Paint protection film for luxury cars, FORT WORTH, TX

On a high-value car, choosing film is as much about the finish as the protection. Clear gloss film keeps the factory look, matte film turns it satin, and both help protect the paint from rock chips and light scratches.

Dark and metallic paint shows everything

Deep black and metallic finishes tend to show chips and swirl marks more than lighter solid colors, and on a car bought partly for its paint, that’s what you notice first.

Recent work here includes full body film on a black Rolls Royce Cullinan, covering every painted panel to guard the deep black finish while keeping its gloss, and clear self-healing film on a Skyscraper Gray Metallic BMW M2 to help shield its metallic paint.

Clear, matte or color film

Clear gloss film keeps the paint looking the way the factory finished it. Matte PPF turns a gloss finish satin while still covering the paint, which is how the C8 Corvette below was done. Color PPF changes the color with film instead of paint. Color film ranges are smaller than paint or vinyl color ranges, so check the options before you settle on a shade.

Matte and satin film has its own care instructions, so ask for them for the film on your car. If you’re deciding between the two finishes, matte vs gloss PPF sets them side by side.

Complex panels and edges

Sculpted bumpers, vents and deep body lines make edge work harder. Film can be wrapped around a panel edge, which hides the cut line, or finished on the face of the panel. Edges are more likely to lift where film is under tension or the surface wasn’t clean, so prep and edge choice matter more on a complex shape. Ask which edges on your car will be wrapped.

For how full coverage is laid out panel by panel, see full body PPF.

Pairing film with ceramic coating

Film is what helps with rock chips and scratches. A ceramic coating adds shine and easier cleaning but won’t stop chips, because it’s a far thinner layer. If your car has matte film, ask whether the coating is suited to matte film before you book both.
